literacy LITERACYLITERACY

In our Literacy classroom you will see your child using chalk boards, dry erase boards, building and labeling structures, reading and being read to, working with puppets and felt boards, writing and acting out their own stories, and working on communication skills, manners and friendships in the home center. Building vocabulary is an on-going process as words are added daily to the “word wall”. This is the room that focuses on the ABC’s.

The Creative Curriculum for Preschool is based on 38 objectives for development and learning. These objectives are fully aligned with the Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework and state early learning standards, and integrated into each and every one of the comprehensive collection of resources that makes up the curriculum.

You can be confident that your child is getting the foundation they need to succeed and excel in school. What’s more, the curriculum also offers daily opportunities to individualize instruction by helping teachers meet the needs of every learner, with a particular focus on English language development and tier 2 and tier 3 language development.
